Start Moving

These are somatic movement lessons focused on functional movement patterns, both for the body and the voice. You will learn how to improve the use of your voice and different body areas and integrate this with the rest of your body through enhanced consciousness. Movement patterns, tightness and unease in certain body parts are common and often experienced as pain, headaches, stress, restricted breathing, poor posture or the misuse of our body and voice.

Restructure your neuromuscular patterns with our Movement Consciousness™ lessons and learn to use your voice with our Voice Consciousness™Complementary to both of the above, are our Breathwork Consciousness™ lessons that lie at the basis of our neurological system and our sense of spirituality: the psycho-physiological changes in brain-body interaction observed in meditative practice rely on the voluntary modification of our breath frequency promoted in these lessons.

Classes are designed as conscious movement speaking inquiry. You will explore how you use and experience your body and how you can improve it and your emerging voice. I will guide you verbally in slow, gentle movement sequences. This process intends to change deep, unconscious movement and speech habits that are causing unnecessary tension in your body, and to create space for an efficient use of your body and voice.

During the class, you will be mainly moving in a lying position, sitting on the floor or in a chair. You will be following my voice as I guide you, there is no need to look at your computer, tablet or phone screen, so your attention is free to focus on your own experience.

The ultimate result is finding balance and connection between mind, body & your environment. Your voice reflects this.

Voice Consciousness™

A small but increasing number of vocal coaches are incorporating Feldenkrais methods into their teaching. What is it? And how can Feldenkrais help speakers and singers?

If you haven’t heard of Feldenkrais you’re not alone; even though this method of movement training has been around since the 1950s it still has a relatively low profile.

Feldenkrais was developed by Israeli physicist and martial artist Moshe Feldenkrais, who recognised the importance of focusing on the whole body to achieve radical change. It aims to improve human functioning by increasing self-awareness through movement and through voice training.

Our voice expresses the different qualities of relationships between ourselves and our physical and cultural environment. It also serves as a tool to assert our status and rights within our social order. Voice production becomes an art when we study how to use it for special purposes. The Feldenkrais Method® inspired me to put together lessons that playfully imitate and amplify the organic processes used to form our voices.

Movement Consciousness™

Breathwork Consciousness™

Breathwork refers to breathing techniques to improve mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. During breathwork you intentionally change your breathing pattern in a conscious and systematic way.

Breathwork promotes spiritual awareness and deep relaxation, while energizing.

Breathwork is used to help to improve a wide range of issues including:

  • Anger issues

  • Anxiety

  • Excess weight

  • Depression

  • Emotional effects of illness

  • Grief

  • Trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder
